The Brite Smile process
This is a popular topic, because people want a whiter, brighter smile. There are a number of ways, and this process is one. It’s a single visit procedure lasting up to an hour and a half. Whitening gel is applied to the teeth and a special light activated that whitens the teeth from seven to eleven shades brighter. We’ve had very good success with that, because it’s quick and causes very little sensitivity. I did it on myself, and really like it.

We have several other ways. One we have used for years employs a custom tray, almost like a little Fluoride tray that fits over the teeth. We give you the whitening gel to take home and use overnight or during the day sometime. This process has been around for a long time, and your teeth will whiten; but it takes more effort on your part because you have to stick with it for several weeks, sometimes longer. For someone who just wants to try whitening and not invest more money, we also offer Crest White Strips, professional strength, less expensive but effective. We like to talk with our patients and find out what suits them best.

The amazing thing about the Bright Smile process is that it is just one visit. The people who have done it have been very pleased. The results are outstanding and we think it’s a great service.

I think of cosmetic dentistry as anything that makes someone look better. It could be just shaving the edge of one tooth to even it out with the teeth next to it; or bonding on a broken tooth to make it look better and match the neighbor teeth. There are more extreme cases in which we’re really redoing the teeth, gums and your smile.
