Dr. Fisher was born and raised in the Seattle area. He attended the University of Washington, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology. After receiving his Doctor of Dental Science degree in 1977, he spent a year serving a general practice residency at Providence Hospital in Seattle where he studied surgery, medicine and all aspects of general dentistry. He has been practicing Dentistry for 25 years and lives in Tacoma with his wife and two children. In his free time he enjoys many different outdoors activities with his family, including hiking, cross-country skiing and helping to coach his children's sports teams.

He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Washington State Dental Association and the Pierce County Dental Association. He also belongs to the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Dr. Fisher notes one of the ironies of good dental care: the better care he takes of his patients, the less he sees of them. "We take great care of our patients. As they get healthier they may only need regular checkups. That makes them very happy. I particularly enjoy the artistic and technical challenges involved in Cosmetic Dentistry. My staff and I get a thrill watching people’s face light up when they see their new smile."
